Earth sciences lecture May 6 James Harrell, professor in the department of earth, ecological and environmental sciences at the University of Toledo, will present a lecture at The University of South Dakota on Monday, May 6, at 4 p.m. in the Akeley Science Building, room 125.
Harrell's lecture is titled "Archaeological Geology in Egypt: Ancient Oil Wells and Mummy Bitumen, Earliest Geological Map, First Paved Road, Pyramid Temple Pavements, and the Sphinx Age Controversy."
The lecture will be followed by a reception. Both events are free and open to the public.
Harrell's lecture is sponsored by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG). Harrell will speak to approximately 20 geological societies and universities while on tour for AAPG.
