Kroth and Pawelek to perform with SDSCO Michael Kroth, principal bassoon and Nathan Pawelek, principal horn of the South Dakota Symphony will perform their final concert with the South Dakota Symphony Chamber Orchestra 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19, in the Vermillion High School Performing Arts Center.
Kroth has been appointed to the music faculty at Michigan State University where he begins duties as professor of bassoon in the fall. Kroth will be featured on L'Historire D'un Soldat by Igor Stravinsky.
Pawelek will be persuing new performing opportunities in the Boston area. For his final solo, Pawelek has chosen Concerto for Horn and Strings by Forrester.
Other principal players of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra featured in the concert will include Doosook Kim, violin; Katherine Vogele, flute and Chris Hill, clarinet. Tickets purchased for the postponed Feb. 9 concert will be honored for this concert.
Additional tickets will be available at the door for $6 general admission. Advanced tickets will be again on sale at Mollet Music Company in Yankton and Nook 'n Cranny in Vermillion.
