Miller named to All Central Team South Dakota Senior Rob Miller (Rapid City, S.D.) has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association All Central Region Second Team, according to an announcement today by the ABCA.
Miller, who finished 2002 with a 3.03 ERA, started eight games, recorded seven complete games and made 18 appearances with a 8-2 record and four saves. He allowed 61 hits, 31 runs, 30 walks and 68 strikeouts in 68.1 innings. Miller led the league in appearances (18) and opponent batting average (.213), and he was third in strikeouts with 8.96 per game. Miller also was second in the NCC in wins (8-2), second in complete games (7), and fourth in saves (4). In league play only, he had a 4-2 record with a 2.70 ERA and 26 strikeouts. Miller tied a school record with eight wins.
This spring, Miller has been named all-NCC, academic all-NCC, Verizon Academic District VII First Team, and one of two USD Scholar Athletes of the YEar. He is the son of Robert and Virginia Miller.
