South Dakota voter guide is on Web site Secretary of State Joyce Hazeltine announced that her office has created the "South Dakota Voter Guide" for the upcoming primary and general elections. The "South Dakota Voter Guide" is being introduced as part of the secretary of state's Web site.

The voter guide is being offered to inform voters about the candidates qualified to appear on South Dakota's June 4 primary election and the Nov. 5 general election ballots.

Participation in the voter guide by candidates is voluntary and is an excellent way to provide voters with pertinent information regarding the candidates for public office.

Candidates who will appear on the ballot for any of the following offices have been extended the opportunity to post a written statement (up to 300 words) and a photograph in the voter guide: U.S. senator, U.S. representative in Congress, state legislators, and governor. The following offices will be included after the party conventions in June: Lt. governor, secretary of state, attorney general, state auditor, state treasurer, commissioner of school and public lands, and public utilities commissioner.

In addition, each candidate can post contact information in the voter guide (telephone number, fax number, address, e-mail address and web site location).
