Tuba soloist, premier vocalist scheduled for finale concert

Tuba soloist, premier vocalist scheduled for finale concert Michael Andersen, tubaist with the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra and graduate assistant in instrumental music at The University of South Dakota, will be the featured soloist with the VHS Symphonic Winds at the Grand Finale Concert, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, in the Vermillion High School Performing Arts Center.

Andersen will be performing Solo Pomposo by Al Hayes. Also featured in the concert will be the premier performance of The Road Not Taken, a vocal work written for the VHS Concert Choir by USD composer Dr. Steven Yarbrough based on the Robert Frost poem of the same name.

The Road Not Taken was commissioned by the Vermillion Music Boosters. Also performing in the concert will be the VHS Women's Chorus and Men's Chorus.
