VHS girls' golf tops West Central by Jim Prosser The VHS girls� golf team played the West Central Trojans on Tuesday, May 7 and took advantage of the opportunity to play the Hartford golf course before the regional tourney is conducted there.
In a match shortened by bad weather conditions, the varsity scored a 181-209 nine-hole win led by Allison Stewart and Karrie Plate who each finished with a 42. Jackie Thomas scored a 47, Dru VanKley, 50, and Ashley Bjorkman shot 56.
The junior varsity won by a 214-276 margin in a nine-hole match.
Vermillion�s Kaylie Heesch was medalist with the low score 50, while the remaining individual scores were: Nicole Veitz, 53, Chelsea Gauer, 57, and Anna Isaacson, 61.
