KELO-LAND Junior Golf Tour continues By Jim Prosser The KELO-LAND 2002 Junior Golf Tour resumed on Tuesday, June 11 at Lakeview Golf Course in Mitchell. There were seven placers, from Vermillion, out of over 100 juniors from the viewing area.
The 12 & 13 boys section had Broc Guaer in fourth with an 88. Alex Schaack placed fifth with an 89 score.
The 16 & 17 age boys group had Rob Schaack scoring a one under par 71, to claim first place. Other Vermillion boys competing were: Eric Ustad (11-under); Nathan Boots (16-17); Chris Moen (14-15); and Jordan Boots and Mikal (12-13) none of who gained an upper level place.
In the 12 & 13 girls division, Anna Isaacson scored 110 for second place. Chelsea Gauer was out of the money. Jacie Thomas placed third in the 14 & 15 girls division with a 94. The 16 & 17 age girls� section had a first place finish for Allison Stewart who scored 78, and a fourth place for Karrie Plate with an 83.
Since Ustad didn�t place at Mitchell, he played a practice round at The Bluffs on Thursday, June 13 with player partners Ryan Powell and Gauer. On the 173 yard par three #17 hole he used a seven wood to accomplish every golfer�s wish � a hole-in-one � not bad for a 12-year-old!
