KELOLAND Junior Golf Tour begins by Jim Prosser The KELOLAND 2002 Junior Golf Tour was instituted on Monday, June 3 at Moccasin Creek Golf Course in Aberdeen.
There were six placers, from Vermillion, out of up to 100 juniors from the surrounding three-state viewing area.
The 12 and 13 boys� section found Broc Gauer tied for first with 89 and the winner of the playoff. Alex Schaack placed third with a 94.
The 16 and 17 year-old boys� group had Rob Schaack scoring 75 to tie for first place. He settled for second by losing the playoff.
In the 12 and 13 girls� division, Chelsea Gauer was fourth with 111.
The 16 and 17 age girls� section had a second place finish for Allison Stewart who scored 73 and a third place for Karrie Plate with a 74.
Also competing from Vermillion was Mikal Ustad, Anna Isaacson, Donny Stewart and Brad Schaack. Future KELO events will be held in Mitchell, Brookings and Yankton.
