Saturday found Brett Bancroft, son of Kara Bancroft, Vermillion, putting his horse through the 4-H club's normal procedures at the Clay County Fairgrounds. The riders are practicing for a July 25 qualifying show that will determine who will go to the State 4-H Horse Show at Huron on Labor Day this fall. The members of the club are not taught to ride, it was explained, but coached in safety practices and 4-H riding procedures in preparation for the various shows they will participate in.
