Allison Stewart wins trip to Ohio tourney by Jim Prosser The junior PGA Westfield Qualifier was held Thursday and Friday, June 27-28, at the Highlands Golf Course, Lincoln, NE. Both boys and girls divisions were in competition.
Rob Schaack was in third place after the first round, scoring an eagle on hole #11. His second round was less spectacular and he finished in ninth with the championship tees being used to make the course an extremely difficult 7021 yards long.
Vermillion had a winner, however � Allison Stewart scored a 72 � 79 five stroke advantage to capture the top spot and an entry to the final championship, to be held July 18-21 at Westfield Center, OH, featuring the champions from each of the 41 PGA of America sections. Her victory qualified her for the all-expense paid trip to Ohio.
The tournament is sponsored by Westfield companies of Ohio.
