Clubs Alpha Lambda #618

Alpha Lambda #618, Epsilon Sigma Alpha International met at Mary Geffre Johnson's home June 6 for a Founder's Day Program. Mrs. Johnson presented the program stating the chapter was organized June 1946 and is 56 years old.

Pat Dusseau is a new member of the chapter. Audrey Gillen was recognized for her 25 years of service to the chapter and was honored at the State Convention.

Peggy Mollet presided at the business meeting, with 11 members present. Correspondence was read from the Vermillion Middle School sixth-grade team for money received for playground equipment donated by the chapter.

Sandie Sullivan reported she has made business cards for the members.

Luann Ouellette will attend the International Convention of ESA held in Indianapolis, IN, July 7-14. Ouellette will take part in the "Hero Walk" for the kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on July 11.

The chapter raffle was won by Sandie Sullivan.

The next meeting will be held July 11, at the Senior Citizens Center. Maryln Harnois and Audrey Gillen will be in charge of the educational program. Harnois will be the hostess for the meeting.

State President Sheila DeBoer, Mitchell, will be an honored guest at a garden party Aug. 1, held at the home of Sandie Sullivan.

Centerville Christian Women's Club

Take a break from the heat. Come in where it's cool and relaxing. Join the Centerville Christian Women's Club for lunch July 9 at noon at Pascale Memorial Hall.

Pat Anderson, Centerville, and Laura Jensen, Beresford, will be bringing us great entertainment with their musical talent.

Pamela Kuemmerle, our speaker, coming across the state from Rapid City tells us her story of restoration, no matter what your past is. She'll walk us through the rooms of her heart.

We extend a special invitation to all the working gals, teachers, and to all the ladies in the area. Take an hour break in the day for great fellowship, lunch, and a refreshing lift in your spirit.

Senior Citizen's Center

One June 26, there were 19 pitch and 14 bridge players at the Senior Citizen's Center to play cards with their friends.

Bridge prizes went to Jim Prosser, high; Marlys Miller, second; Marie Parke, blind bogey; and Louise Scott, low.

Coffee break servers were Barb Kronaizl, Marie Parke, and Marlys Miller.

Men and women are welcome. No reservations are needed; join us every Wednesday.
