Minn-Kota Auctions, Sale scheduled The annual Minn-Kota Auctions & Sale has much to offer for all ages. "Worlds of Goods � 2002" is the title given to the event, with the accompanying slogan, "a unique festival for the good of the world." Sale-goers will find many attractions this year at the Minn-Kota Sale set for July 26 and 27, at the Sioux Falls Arena. Proceeds from the sale will go to the Mennonite Central Committee, a Christian resource that helps meet human need around the world.
At 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, the quilt auction will begin. The quilt auction will sell handmade quilts and needlework. The feature quilt is called "Peace Lillies." The woodwork auction will also begin at 10 a.m. The woodwork auction will sell woodwork, furniture, and other craft items.
Beautiful hand crafts from around the world will be sold at the Sale by Ten Thousand Villages. Starting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday children will have the opportunity to bid at the "Kids Stuff" auction. Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday The Master's Voice Quartet will be singing.
Other events from previous years that will remain the same are the food lines, featuring some ethnic foods, which will be open from 4-7 p.m. on Friday and re-opening at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The craft and food booths will open at 4 p.m. on Friday and will re-open at 9 a.m. on Saturday. There will also be a pancake breakfast served from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The 5K Run/3K Fun Walk will start from Elmwood Park, Sioux Falls, at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning. Admission is free.
