Parton to perform for South Dakota United Ways The Sioux Empire United Way hosted a news conference on Wednesday, July 10 at the Great Hall in the Washington Pavilion, Sioux Falls, to announce an upcoming performance by Dolly Parton.
This year, the Sioux Empire United Way launched Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. This program provides age appropriate books to children ages up to 5 years old each month through the mail. Due to the extreme amount of enthusiasm among children and parents in the Sioux Empire, the Imagination Library Program will now be expanded throughout the state of South Dakota with the help of Parton herself.
Parton will be performing a benefit concert at the Washington Pavilion on Sept. 4 to help other United Ways across the state of South Dakota offer this wonderful program to children in their own communities. Proceeds from Parton's concert will be matched with funds that each local United Way is able to raise. Tickets for this concert will go on sale July 13 at 10 a.m.
Additional details regarding this concert and the United Ways in South Dakota, including the Vermillion United Way, who will be participating in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Program will be announced at the news conference.
