USD releases spring 2002 dean’s list

USD releases spring 2002 dean's list The University of South Dakota has announced the dean's lists for the 2002 spring semester, with approximately 729 students, or more than 14 percent of the entire student body, named to the lists.

Names are listed by schools and colleges at USD, according to each school's academic criteria for dean's list eligibility. Students who earned a 4.0 grade point average are noted with an asterisk (*) on all lists.

COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES

Acting Dean Susan Wolfe has named 243 students from the College of Arts and Sciences to the spring semester dean's list. Qualifying students must rank in the top 10 percent of their class. Only full-time students are eligible to be named to the dean's list. A full-time student is defined as one who is enrolled for 12 or more credit hours.

Dean Michael J. Keller has named 157 students to the School of Business dean's list.� The list includes both pre-business students and business majors.

Eligible students must compile at least a 3.2 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. A maximum of 20 percent of the students in a class are allowed on the list, thus requirements may be higher in some classes. In addition, the School of Business requires enrollment in at least 14 credit hours, with no more than three credit hours taken as pass-fail and no course grade less than a "C."

SCHOOL OF LAW

The Dean's List is issued each semester. This list is composed of those law students, other than first semester, first year law students, who are registered for 12 or more law school hours, 10 of which will be given a numerical grade, and either 1) have for that semester achieved a grade point average of 85.00 or better; or 2) are in the top 10 percent of their class for that semester, whichever group is smaller.� The list is not based on cumulative grade point average.
