Vermillion Teeners top Elk Point in two games by Jim Prosser After the disappointing showing in their previous three games, the Vermillion Teener team responded with two exciting games against Elk Point Tuesday, July 2, there.
The first game was a close contest but Vermillion scored a 9-5 win over the home-standing teeners. Steve Foltz was the starter surrendering five runs on six hits and two walks, registering three Ks to claim the victory.

Vermillion offense was led by John Gregg and Brad Schaack, both of whom went 1-2 batting, two runs scored, and one rbi each. Foltz was 2-3 with one rbi. Paul Waite was 1-2, one run, one rbi; Tim Bleil was 1-1, one run, one rbi and Troy Manning scored twice while going 1-1 with a walk and one rbi.
Game two was a close scoring battle with Vermillion holding on to a 1-1 tie before plating three runs in the fifth inning to take the winning 4-2 lead hold up. Jason Donald pitched a seven-inning squeaker, walking three, with four Ks and only two hits to register the win.

Offensive stars for Vermillion were: Brandon Hansen who went 1-2, scored one run and drove in one; Tim Bleil went 2-3, two walks, one run, one rbi; and Brad Schaack 1-1, a bb, one run, one rbi. Ryan Mockler scored the other run.
