FNB team loses to Crofton in tourney by Jim Prosser The First National Bank team played three games in the annual Yankton Babe Ruth League, winning two, then losing in the semi-finals.
In the first game, on Wednesday, July 22, the local FNB team played the Clay Rural Water team, and defeated them 26-2, but not until reliever C.J. Haakinson saved the game by registering Ks to the last two batters after the Orioles had scored eight runs in the final inning.
Winning pitcher was Jordan Boots who was credited with six Ks in three innings. There were a whole bunch of FNB hitting leaders like: Nick Rasmussen, 3-3, HR, two doubles; Boots 4-4; Mikal Ustad, 3-4 (triple); C.J. Haakinson and Ryan Husby, each 2-2 (double); Michael Oberle, 2-3; and Daniel Storm hit a triple.
For CRW, Tom Mollet went 2-2.
Summary: FNB � 26 runs; 20 hits, 1 error; CRW � 2 runs, 3 hits, 2 errors.
Then, on Thursday, July 23, in a game played in Vermillion, FNB outscored Pump �N Pac 12-5 to qualify them for the semi-finals.
Jordan Boots was credited with the win as he recorded four Ks and Alex Schaack registered six Ks in two innings of relief.

Finally, in a game played at Yankton on Friday, July 29, FNB lost a squeaker to Crofton Red 12-11. They also were the only team to beat FNB during regular league play.
FNB fell behind 9-2, early, but scored nine runs in the final two innings, leaving the tying run on base when the game ended. Starter � Boots; reliever � Schaack; each had three Ks.
