Jenny James earns Southern Seminary degree Jenny James of Vermillion received a master of theology degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary on May 17 during the Louisville, KY, school's 189th commencement.
James was one of more than 170 graduates to receive a degree from the seminary, which saw students from 32 states and six foreign countries graduate. Dr. R. Albert Mohler Jr., president of the institution, was commencement speaker.
James' home church is Grace Baptist Church in Vermillion. Her parents are Wayne and Billie James of Vermillion. She received a bachelor's degree from The University of South Dakota in 1995 and a master of divinity degree from Southern Seminary in 2000.
Southern Seminary, the oldest of the six Southern Baptist seminaries, was founded in 1859. Mohler has served as the seminary's ninth president since August 1993.
