The Bluffs Bulletin Board Men's League
After a long, hot weather spell, it was a welcome relief for the cool breezes during the ninth week of regular league play on Aug. 1, using the front nine tee boxes. The better weather conditions, however, were not conducive for scoring anyhow!
Results for the week in the American division shows best scores for Recuerdos/Silver$ and The Back Nine Grill who both enjoyed the 23 point forfeits by "no show" opponents. LBA Interiors picked up 19.5 legitimate points by defeating Bud Light.
Low individual scratch score of 36 belongs to Brett Hogen; and there was a tie between Dennis Bruce and Nick Hovden with 1 over par 37s. Other 40 and under scores were: Tim Christopherson and Jeremi Cowman (39 each); Gary Prosser and Kelly Higgins (40 each). Bruce was credited with the lowest net 31; Ross Johnson netted a 32; several net 35s were recorded. There were 14 birdies reported for the day, two each for Hogen and Cowman.
The National division had only two teams with high point scores: Alkota 17; and Pros 16, who jumped two more slots in the standings, only 8.5 out of first.
Steve Gapp, Kevin Brown and Joe Bjorkman shared the only scratch score under 40 with a 38. Gapp had a net 31, Bjorkman netted 32, and Brown 34. Other below net scores were: Bob Noonan and Nick Merrigan with 34 net scores; Chad Peters netted a 35. Six birdies were reported for the day.

Senior Men's Fun Golf League
In spite of a cloudy rain threatening morning, 37 seniors showed up for fellowship and good golf on Aug. 6.
Howard connors was at a family gathering in New Jersey and had Jim Zimmerman come and enjoy the outing in his place.
The winning team by score was Irl Oaks, Jack Stewart, and Wayne Bruning; but they graciously gave their prizes to the team with the high score who wished not to be indentified.
Other ball winners included three teams with a score of 38 and two teams with 39. The winners at 38 were: Ken Beringer, Quentin Oleson, Shorty Hanson and Ivan Pierce; Loren Carlson, Harlan Schott and Dick Munkvold; and Sid Davis, Ted Van Bruggen and Bob Lund.
The winners at 39 included Ron Brown, Stan Munger and Jim Prosser; plus Elmer Mount, Berwyn Svaboda and Bill Rasmussen.
Eight Birdies were chalked up on this cloudy day. No outstanding putts were noted today; but several outstanding approach shots were worthy of highlight. Stan Munger within five feet of the pin from over 100 yards out on 18. Berwyn Svaboda put one up to within eight feet of the hole on 18 from 150 yards out.
Next week Tuesday should be another good golf day so all you senior golfers can come out and enjoy the competition.
