Vermillion Chamber hosts golf social Aug. 12 by Jim Prosser The Vermillion Chamber of Commerce held its annual golf social at The Bluffs on Monday, Aug. 12. This was a fund raiser event and included an 18-hole four-person �Texas Scramble.�
Twenty-eight four-person teams competed for low score and pin prizes. Local businesses and professional people furnished the pin prizes which included everything from free meals, golf balls, cosmetics, and gift certificates, to a $5,000 award for a hole in one (no one accomplished the feat).
Hors d�oeuvres were available in the club rooms during the day, compliments of several cafes, and a catered meal was presented after the tournament.
Championship flight winner was the Plain Talk team consisting of Bill Willroth, Chad Lavin, Mark Clark and Allison Stewart. They registered a 27/27 � 54 score. The consolation flight was won by the KVHT team � Joe VanGoor, Dave Gottsleben, Lee Rederick and Eric Rossum, which recorded a 69.
The coordinating committee members for the 112-person event were Jere Chapman, Jenny French, Sheila Prosser and Mike Chaney.
