Clay County 4-H Horse Club members compete at State Horse Show The members of the Clay County Lucky Trailblazers 4-H horse club competed at the South Dakota State 4-H Horse Show on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 at the State Fairgrounds in Huron. Eleven members participated in 26 events and Youth-In-Action events.
Megan Griffith, Burbank, Karrie Plate and Sarah Plate, Vermillion and JoAnna Strom, Beresford, participated in the Senior Division. Griffith received the grand champion award in senior barrels with a 16.675 second riding time. She also received the reserve champion award in senior pole bending with a 21.207 second ride.

Hunt Seat Equitation: Blue � JoAnna Strom.
Hunt Seat Equitation Over Fences: Purple � Megan Griffith; White � Sarah Plate.
Trail: White � JoAnna Strom, Sarah Plate.
Western Showmanship: Blue � JoAnna Strom.
Western Riding: Red � Karrie Plate.
Reining: Blue � Karrie Plate.
Barrels: Purple � Megan Griffith.
Pole Bending: Purple � Megan Griffith.
Horse Judging School: Red � Sarah Plate.
Participating in the Junior Division were Jessica DeBuhr and Troy Donnelly of Elk Point, Adrianne Logue, Volin, and Brittany Rederick and Katie Sokolowski of Wakonda. Logue received grand champion in junior trail and Sokolowski received reserve champion in junior pleasure driving.

Stock Seat Equitation: Purple � Jessica DeBuhr.

Beginner participants were Brett Bancroft of Vermillion and Madeleine Pace of Elk Point.
