Loreen Ebsen FAIRFAX — Loreen W. Ebsen, 82, Fairfax, died Wednesday (Sept. 4, 2002) at Lake Andes Healthcare Center.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairfax, with burial following in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lake Andes.
Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. today (Friday) at the Clements-Wiese Funeral Home, Lake Andes.
She was born Dec. 13, 1919, near Alcester to John and Selma (Johnson) Erickson. She grew up and attended country school in the area and graduated from Beresford High School. She received her teaching certificate from Southern State Teachers College at Springfield and taught country school for a few years. She married Ray Ebsen at her parents' home at Beresford and they farmed there until 1947 when they moved to a farm near Lake Andes. She was secretary and bookkeeper for her husband's construction business until 1970 when they retired to a ranch near Fairfax. He died April 21, 1995, and she moved to the Lake Andes Health Care Center in 1998.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Lake Andes, and the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairfax.
She is survived by two sons: Michael (Nancy), Cheyenne, Wyo.; and Mark (Ona), Fairfax; four grandchildren; and one sister, Florence Eckert, Sioux City, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, eight brothers and two sisters.
