Man Gets 35 Years For Abduction SIOUX FALLS (AP) — One of two men accused in the kidnapping and rape of a 7-year-old Sioux Falls girl was sentenced to 35 years in prison Thursday.
In a deal with prosecutors, Jason Frye, 22, had avoided a life sentence by pleading guilty to kidnapping. He also agreed to help prosecutors in the their case against the second man, Brandon Herrmann.
Frye admitted that he and Herrmann kept the girl at his house for four hours and that Herrmann repeatedly raped the girl while Frye watched. Frye had originally been charged with rape and kidnapping in the Dec. 19 incident.
Frye said Herrmann, who kidnapped the girl just a few blocks from her school, forced him to molest the girl by threatening him with a knife. Frye said Herrmann kidnapped the girl and then called him telling him he was bringing ??a surprise'' to his house.
After the assaults, the two men bathed the girl and washed her clothes in an effort to conceal their crimes, prosecutors said.
Police found her walking later that day in the same neighborhood she disappeared from.
