Minzel finishes fifth at Jackrabbit Invite Travis Minzel of The University of South Dakota men's golf team shot a two-day total of 184 to finish in a three-way tie for third on Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Jackrabbit Invitational at the Brookings Country Club in Brookings.
Minzel was the second day leader with a score of 70 after shooting a 78 in the first day's competition. South Dakota Red finished tied with Briar Cliff for second with 614, while South Dakota White had a 654 for sixth place. South Dakota State Blue won the meet with a score of 602.
South Dakota's Jesse Talcott finished eighth with a two-day total of 154 with a 75 on Saturday. Brett Nielsen, who was fifth with a 74, dropped to 14th with a total of 158. Chris Knight, Jon Sorensen and Kent Peterson all finished 20th with a score of 161. Leading South Dakota White were Michael Billiet, Brad Noel and Kyle Kelly who were 24th with 162.
