More South Dakotans registered to vote YANKTON (AP) South Dakotans are lining up to register to vote in the November general election.
Secretary of State Joyce Hazeltine is reporting an increase in registration numbers since the June primary.
Democratic numbers have increased by about 5,000 and Republican ranks have gone up about 3,000, Hazeltine said.
South Dakota now has just under 461,000 registered voters, increase from 452,000 in June.
Hazeltine plans to wait awhile before making projections for the Nov. 5 vote, but she does expect a heavy turnout.
