United Way's 'Taste of Vermillion' is Oct. 3 United Way of Vermillion will hold its 2003 campaign Kick-off, "A Taste of Vermillion," on Thursday, Oct. 3, from 5:15 until 7:30 p.m. The "taste" will be held at the Vermillion High School Cafeteria.
Vermillion's restaurants will provide food for the public's enjoyment and there will be music for everyone's listening pleasure. Tours of the new high school facility will be available upon request.
The United Way 2003 member agencies will have displays showcasing the services they provide and their programs that are funded by United Way in the Vermillion area. There will be a short program honoring many United Way friends and supporters. The 2003 campaign goal and theme will be announced during the evening.
The United Way Board of Directors will be introducing several new programs at the "taste" this year. Everyone will hear all about the Imagination Library, the United Way collaboration with The University of South Dakota IdEA Program, and the proposed volunteer services clearinghouse.
The nomination forms for the second annual United Way Volunteer of the Year Award will be available as will registration forms for the Imagination Library.
