VHS boys golf team has good showing at Yankton by Jim Prosser The Yankton Invitational Tournament was held Friday, Sept. 13 with 19 teams entered and nearly 100 individuals participating.
�Considering the competitive field of mostly AA high school teams, the Tanagers placed a respectable eighth with a 331 score,� Coach Kirk Hogen said.
The fact is, Vermillion had the lowest score bettering all the other Class A schools entered.
Led by Rob Schaack�s 77, which placed him ninth among the individual scores, the Tanagers had Nathan Boots� 81, Chris Moen�s 86, Brad Schaack�s 87, and Broc Gauer�s 94.
The Tanager golf team will compete in an 18-hole invitational Friday, Sept. 20 at The Bluffs course as they host a replacement tournament which was cancelled in Mitchell.
