"Voice of Democracy" competition planned Clay Auxiliary #3061 Veterans of Foreign Wars and its Ladies Auxiliary of Vermillion are sponsoring the "Voice of Democracy," a patriotic audio essay competition. VOD is open to students in the ninth, 10th, 11th and 12th grades who must write a three to five minute original essay, then record it on audio cassette.
This year's theme is: "Freedom's Obligation." Entry deadline is Nov. 1, 2002. Prizes are awarded on a local, district and state level.
The state winner is awarded a trip to Washington, DC and a scholarship of at least $1,000.
