Yankton Falls At Sioux Falls O'Gorman SIOUX FALLS — The Yankton Bucks boys soccer team fell to Sioux Falls O'Gorman 2-1 Thursday.
"O'Gorman is a good team — it was a good game," said Yankton coach Dave Gunderson. "It was a defensive battle, and they got some good shots off in the second half."
The teams played to a scoreless tie at half, before the Knights broke the tie with a pair of goals. Ryan Smith scored Yankton's lone goal with 10 minutes left, converting a pass from Cale Cornemann.
Cornemann had two shots on goal for the Bucks. Kurt Lammers, Eric Peterson, Pat Tweedy and Josh Weiland also had shots on goal.
Riley Smith stopped 12 shots on goal for Yankton.
Yankton, 1-1, returns home for a pair of matches Saturday, facing Brookings at 10 a.m. and Watertown at 2 p.m.
The Bucks tied O'Gorman 2-2 in junior varsity action. No statistics were available at presstime.
