Cross country competes in West Sioux Invite by Jim Prosser Both the Tanager girls' and boys' cross country teams ran at the 13-team West Sioux (Hawarden) Invitational on Friday Oct. 11.
The team scores for the class A varsity girls were: Heelan � 41, O'Gorman � 57, Unity Christian � 86, Sioux Falls Roosevelt � 86, VHS � 102, LeMars � 157, Sioux City East � 161.
The Tanager girls' individual 4K run results were, in the top 15, #8 � Katarina Gombocz and #13 � Nikki Mollet. Other runners were: #17 � Kayla Nelson, #22 � Katie Dehner, and #42 � Morgan Brooks.
In the junior varsity girls' division, Sarah Plate and Theresa Ring placed 11th and 12th; Tera Dehner was 16th; #25 � Kayla Mollet was 25th; Megan Bedard was 27th and Alisha O'Connor was 46th.
Boys' varsity team results for the 5K meter run were: O'Gorman � 25, Roosevelt � 54, East � 104, Unity Christian � 118, VHS 121, Sgt. Bluff /Luton � 157, LeMars � 165, Heelan � 169.
The Tanagers' top 15 placers were: 12th � Justin Manning and 14th � Craig Powell. Also, at 28th � A.J. Manning; 30th � Mitch Bierle; 37th � Dan Pearson; 43rd � Wilber Lio; and 50th � Caleb Berry.
In junior varsity boys, Bobby Punt placed 24th and Thomas Dendinger came in 26th. Anish Patel placed 29th, Danny Shen came in 36th and Danny Redlin placed 43rd.
