United Way launches 2002 volunteer search United Way of Vermillion is initiating its search for the 2002 Vermillion Volunteer of the Year.
Last year United Way of Vermillion established an annual Vermillion Volunteer of the Year Award to be presented at the Vermillion Development Company/Vermillion Chamber of Commerce banquet each January. The 2001 Volunteer of the Year was Young Moore, III, who is serving as honorary chairman of the 2003 United Way of Vermillion Campaign.
Nominees for the award are sought who exemplify the best traditions of volunteerism in America. The honoree will have a sustained record of giving of his/her time and other resources for the betterment of the community in a broad range of activities.
Again this year, a committee of seven members representing of the community at large � the city, the school district, the churches, the Chamber of Commerce, civic groups, and non-profit organizations � will be selected by the United Way Board of Directors to evaluate the nominations and to select the winner of the award.
Individuals, all United Way member agencies, other non-profit agencies, and volunteer organizations are encouraged to submit nominations for the Volunteer of the Year Award. A nomination form can be obtained from United Way of Vermillion by calling 624-5354, by writing to United Way of Vermillion, P.O. The deadline for submitting nominations is Nov.15.
