Jim Green, co-chairman of the Newcastle/Vermillion Missouri River Bridge Committee, told the crowd that the committee planned to place a plaque on the bridge, but learned after the plaque was made that regulations prohibited it. Green (left) presented the plaque to Vermillion Mayor Roger Kozak for the city to keep until the day when it can be placed on the bridge as originally planned.
