Candlelight Tour of Homes scheduled Dec. 6 in Vermillion Maureen Goddard and Holly Straub, co-charis of the annual Candlelight Tour of Homes scheduled Dec. 6, decorate the staircase of the Austin Whittemore House in preparation of the event. The Clay County Historical Society is hosting the Annual Candlelight Tour of Homes on Friday Dec. 6. Six beautifully decorated homes will be open for touring from 6 to 9 p.m., including the homes of Joanne and Michael Allen, 216 Forest Ave., The Women of Alpha Xi Delta, 214 North Plum St., Jenny and Tom French, 302 Canby St., Joanne and Mel Ustad, 1525 Crestview, Patricia Goebel House, Bed and Breakfast, 102 Franklin St., and the Austin Whittemore House, 15 Austin St.
Hors d'oeuvres, desserts, and champagne will be served at the Austin Whittemore house starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person and are available for purchase at Davis Pharmacy, Deb's Hallmark, Jones' Food Center, Nook 'n Cranny, Vermillion Beauty Shop, Vermillion Federal Credit Union, The Wild Flower, and Willson Florist.
The tour of homes is an annual fundraising event, with proceeds being used to assist in meeting expenses to maintain The Austin Whittemore House for public enjoyment and education.
