Legion auxiliary meets American Legion Auxiliary Gingrich-Dixon Post #13 of Wakonda met on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 7:30 p.m. at the multi-purpose room of the Heritage Manor with 13 members present for roll call.
President Betty Schmidt called the meeting to order. The secretary and treasurer's reports were read and approved.
Correspondence was read from our district president, Sybil Hotchkiss and a thank you was read from the Wakonda Heritage Manor.
Old Business: Carol Peterson ordered and has received one dozen Blue Star Banners. These will be given to any families with a relative currently serving in the Armed Forces. Anyone wishing to place one in their home is asked to contact Betty Schmidt or JoAnn

Ganschow. The work schedule was reviewed for serving Santa Shack on Sunday, Oct. 20. All members have been contacted to furnish pies or desserts or pay $10.
New Business: The November meeting will be new member initiation and the Auxiliary Birthday Party. Each member is asked to bring a small wrapped gift. The auxiliary looked at the display of 23 Christmas gifts for veterans purchased by Dolores Haver and the shower gifts for Ft. Meade Hospital purchased by Betrece Davis.
The meeting adjourned and lunch was served by Betrece Davis, Lois Dwyer, and Mary Jane Abild. The next meeting will be Saturday, Nov. 16, 2 p.m. at the Manor. Hostessess are Donna Henriksen, Teresa Skonhovd, and Diane Peterson.
