Vermillion merchants formally kicked off their holiday promotions Friday night with the help of Santa, who was greeted with a big smile by Andrew Kronaizl, 3, and his father, Denis Kronaizl. After shaking hands and giving plenty of hugs to young and old, Santa switched on the city's downtown Christmas decorations.
