Virginia Delvaux honored The National Extension Association for Family and Consumer Sciences recognized Virginia Delvaux as a 2002 Regional Finalist for the Extension Family & Consumer Sciences Educator of the Year award.
The Educator of the Year award is sponsored by Maytag and is presented to Extension Educators who have previously been awarded the NEAFCS Distinguished Service and Continued Excellence awards. The Educator of the Year is one of the highest awards presented by the association to its members. The Extension Educator of the Year award recognizes Family & Consumer Sciences Extension Educators for their leadership abilities, outstanding educational programming and personal and professional growth.
The National Association for Family & Consumer Sciences is honored to present the 2002 Extension Educator of the Year regional finalist to Delvaux of SDSU Cooperative Extension Service. Delvaux is the Extension Educator for Youth Development/4-H in the Clay County Extension Office in Vermillion. She serves the South 2 Field Education Unit including the counties of Bon Homme, Clay, Hutchinson, Lincoln, Turner, Union and Yankton.
She received the award at the 68th annual session of the National Extension Association for Family & Consumer Sciences in Kansas City, MO Oct. 6-10. The S.D. Affiliate of NEAFCS recognized her during the SDSU Cooperative Extension Annual Conference on Oct. 24 in Brookings.
