Vermillion schools dismiss at 2 p.m.

Vermillion Public Schools, The University of South Dakota, and the Clay County Courthouse closed for Thanksgiving.

Nov. 29

The USD Lady Coyotes will play a game with the Emporia State University Lady Hornets in the UNO Classic at Sapp Fieldhouse on the campus of University of Nebraska-Omaha in Omaha, NE, 1 p.m.

Nov. 30

Bridal shower honoring Helen Payne at the Wakonda United Methodist Church, 10 a.m.

The USD Lady Coyotes will play a game with the University of Southern Colorado Lady Thunderwolves in the UNO Classic at Sapp Fieldhouse on the campus of University of Nebraska-Omaha in Omaha, NE, 1 p.m.

Dec. 1

Christmas Tour of Homes in Elk Point area. Tickets are available in Elk Point at Pioneer Drug, Larson Family Foods, and Old Mill General Store. Sponsors for the event are the Sharks and the Heritage Day Committee. Tour will be held from 1 to 5 p.m.

Dec. 2

Classes resume at USD.

Vermillion High School A/B wrestling, Lennox/Brandon Valley (H), 5:30 p.m.

Financial Aid Information Night for seniors' parents, hosted by the Vermillion High School Counseling Department at the VHS library, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

VHS gymnastics versus Sioux Falls Lincoln (T), 7 p.m.

Rubber Stampers and Scrapbookers meeting, Vermillion Public Library, 7 p.m.

The USD Coyotes' men's basketball team will host the University of Minnesota-Morris Cougars in the DakotaDome, 7 p.m.

Dec. 3

Vermillion High School gymnastics, Sioux Falls Lincoln (T), 7 p.m.

The USD Lady Coyotes will play a game with the College of St. Mary's Lady Flames in the DakotaDome, 7 p.m.

Dr. Donald McCabe will deliver the 2002 Presidential Lecture on Teaching. Dr. McCabe is a noted expert on academic integrity and student cheating in college, Old Main, 7 p.m.

Dec. 4

The USD Lady Coyotes will host a game with the University of Minnesota-Morris Lady Cougars in the DakotaDome, 6 p.m.

The USD Coyotes' men's basketball team will host the William Penn University Statesmen in the DakotaDome, 8 p.m.

Dec. 5

Pi Beta Phi Soup and Pie Feed, Eagles Club. Cost is $4 for adults and $3 for kids. Begins at 5 p.m.

Vermillion High School Dance Inferno first annual holiday dance recital, adults, $5, students $3 at the VHS auditorium. 8 p.m.

Christian Student Fellowship Bible study, 8:30 p.m.

Christ on Campus Bible Study, Coyote Student Center, 9 p.m.

Dec. 5-7

One act play at Arena Theatre, located in USD's Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts, 7 p.m.

Dec. 6

A Czech Christmas, Brown Bag Lunch Program at the National Music Museum on the USD campus, 12:05 p.m.

Clay County Historical Society's Annual Candlelight Tour of Homes, 6 to 9 p.m. Hors d'oeuvres, desserts, and champagne will be served at the Austin Whittemore house starting at 7:30 p.m. Vermillion High School gymnastics vs. Sioux Falls Roosevelt (H).

Dec. 6-7

USD women's swimming and diving to travel to Nebraska Omaha Invite. State Oral Interp Festival at Yankton.

Dec. 7

Making Christmas Gingerbread Houses with Carol Sanderson, W.H. Over Museum, 1110 Ratingen Street. Call 677-5228 for information, 9:30 a.m.

The USD Coyotes' men's basketball team will host the Northern State University Wolves in the DakotaDome, 7 p.m.

Dec. 10

Vermillion High School Holiday Concert at VHS, 7:30 p.m.

Dec. 10-11

Siouxland Community Blood Bank drive at the Coyote Student Center, USD, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.�����
