Breakfast, drawings, Santa planned Dec. 21 It's that time of the year again and what a great year it's turned out to be in Wakonda.
In appreciation for its members, the community and local businesses, the Wakonda Community Club will host an appreciation breakfast for one and all on Saturday, Dec. 21, at the American Legion Hall from 10 a.m. to noon. Pancakes and links, coffee and hot chocolate will be served.
In addition, there will be drawings for prizes donated by area businesses every half hour for adults ages 21 and up. Please be sure to register for the drawings at participating Wakonda businesses every time you make a purchase between now and Dec. 21.
For the youngsters, the highlight of the day will be the arrival of Santa Claus in Wakonda shortly after noon. Sources tell us that Santa is bringing bags of delicious candy from the North Pole to pass out to all children who have been good this year.
A membership table will be available throughout the event for those who are renewing for 2003 or joining the Wakonda Community Club for the first time.
Those joining or renewing will be eligible for the "early bird" prize to be drawn at noon.
