Dilges, Johnston join Rounds staff Governor-elect Mike Rounds has named Jason Dilges as the new commissioner of the Bureau of Finance and Management (BFM) and Mark Johnston as his press secretary.
Dilges, 30, is originally from Mount Vernon. He earned both a bachelor and master's degree in business administration from The University of South Dakota. He has seven years experience in the BFM as a budget analyst, state economist and deputy commissioner. Most recently, Dilges served as manager of financial analysis for the Northwestern Corporation in Sioux Falls. He and his wife Meghan currently live in Sioux Falls.
Johnston, 40, grew up in Onawa, IA. He graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a degree in business administration. Johnston is the public affairs officer for the South Dakota National Guard and currently lives in Rapid City. He and his wife Julie have two children.
Both are scheduled to begin their duties on Dec. 9.
