Education topic of legislative forum An area legislative forum hosted by the Southeast Area Cooperative is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 12, at Beresford High School.
The focus of the forum will be on legislative matters, issues/topics relevant to education for the upcoming 2003 legislative session and local school districts' input to legislators.
A dinner will begin at 6 p.m. with the legislators as guests and the legislative forum to start at 6:45 p.m.
Legislators from District 16 (Senator Ken Albers, Representative-elect Joel Dykstra and Representative Margaret Gillespie); District 17 (Senator John (Joe) Reedy, Representative-elect Donna Schafer and Representative B.J. Nesselhuff); and District 18 (Senator Gary Moore, Representative Matthew Michels and Representative Jean Hunhoff) have been invited to attend.
Area school board members and administrators from the following school districts will be in attendance: Alcester-Hudson, Beresford, Canton, Centerville, Cornbelt Education Cooperative, Dakota Valley, Elk-Point-Jefferson, Gayville-Volin, Harrisburg, Hurley, Irene, Lennox, Parker, Vermillion, Viborg, Yankton, Vermillion and Wakonda.
The public is invited to attend the public forum at 6:45 p.m. at Beresford High School.
