Hess is PRIDE employee of month Mitch Hess, activities assistant, was selected as the Sioux Valley Vermillion Medical Center December 2002 PRIDE Employee of the Month. Hess has been employed at Sioux Valley Vermillion Care Center since May 2000.
"Mitch works in the North unit with our dementia residents. Every day, all day, Mitch performs his work duties with the residents with compassion and true kindness. He is a constant source of creativity, ingenuity, and willingness. Mitch demonstrates the ability to stay positive even when things don't go as planned. Family members of our residents continually remind us how lucky we are to have Mitch at SVVCC."
These are just a few of the comments that were made in employee of the month nominations for Hess.
"Mitch is very talented and creative. His enthusiasm and compassion have made important contributions to our excellent Activity and Recreational Therapy Program at Sioux Valley Vermillion Care Center," said John Paulson, chief executive officer.
Hess is a graduate of The University of South Dakota with a degree in speech communications. He is originally from Watertown.
