Retiring Clay County Sheriff Dusty Passick was honored Wednesday for his 20 years of service to the Clay County Child Protection Team. Passick was an original member of the organization when it formed in 1982. "I truly, personally know of kids that were helped because of this team," he said, "and I'm sure there are many more we aren't aware of that were helped in some way in the last 20 years." James Kallsen of the Department of Social Services' office of Child Protection Services, Vermillion (right) presents Passick with a plaque that reads "In recognition of your service to the children of our community as a member of the Clay County Child Protection Team."
