Nygaard receives ROTC scholarship Jeanette R. Nygaard has received an Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) scholarship for four years at South Dakota State University, Brookings.
Scholarships are awarded on a merit system in areas such as
academic achievement, extracurricular activities, specific accomplishments, and personal interviews.
The scholarship entitlements include tuition and education fees assistance, textbook, supplies and equipment allowances, and a monthly stipend of $200 for up to 10 months of each school year at the host college or university.
She is the daughter of Eldon and Sherry Nygaard of Vermillion.
The cadet is a 2002 graduate of Vermillion High School. Nygaard is pursuing a bachelor's degree in political science.
