Check It Out at the Vermillion Public Library by Anne Marshall Showcased Book of the Week
On the evening of Sept. 14, as the sun set over the flag-draped county courthouse in Somerset, PA, 1,500 mourners gathered together as Gov. Tom Ridge presided over a memorial to the passengers and crew of United Flight 93. Ridge said the hijackers had failed in their mission, as they had not destroyed our spirit, they rekindled it. Among the Heroes, by Jere Longman tells yet another tale of the gallant passengers and crew who fought against an unfamiliar foe and provided a measure of victory for many Americans.
