School spirit contest set by Heather Hessman The Wakonda Student Council is sponsoring a cent for spirit change drive competition. The council is trying to see which class has the most school spirit and the most money. The competition is for grades 7-12. Students have been asked to bring their loose change to school, and ironically, pennies are worth more than any other coin. The pennies count towards and silver coins count against the students' reward. The money being raised will be used to help purchase cool spirit gear like #1 fingers, homer hankies, hats, etc. for districts and hopefully state. The winning class will be rewarded. The competition will end Jan. 24.
