Unclaimed property payments up State Treasurer Dick Butler's office has approved a single unclaimed property pay- ment of $56,593 for an Aberdeen woman.
"This claim lifts the total we have paid out over the last six months to over $1 million," Butler said.
Butler, who left office Jan. 6, said the rate of payment so far this year is well ahead of last year's record setting pace and should virtually assure a $2 million total by June 30. Last year Butler returned $1.97 million in unclaimed property to its rightful owners � an amount greater than returned by all treasurers prior to Butler.
