Vermillion High School to present one-act play On Friday, Jan. 24, Vermillion High School actors will have you rolling in the aisles with their 30-minute cutting of Christopher Durang's play, Baby with the Bathwater. This absurdly twisted comedy takes a satiric look at child rearing in a society full of conflicting messages. The VHS house opens at 7 p.m. with curtain at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Cast and crew members include: Mike Clark, Nick Amundson, Mark Amiotte, Torrie Rasmussen, Georgia Gray-Lobe, Anna Wellsfry, Theresa Dendinger, Jena Mulder, Carrie Christensen, Michelle Rydell, Cori Bazemore, Dan Smart, Heather Howitz, Dustin Hayner, Tom Pearson, Angad Mathur, Kim Baker, Kristin Olson, C.J. Harden and Becca Gehm.
If you can't make it on Friday, Baby with the Bathwater will be performed again during Regional I One-Act Play Festival held at the Vermillion High School Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
This day-long event is open to the public and will include eight regional high school plays; Beresford will perform at 9 a.m., Bon Homme at 9:50 a.m., Canton at 10:40 a.m., Lennox at 11:30 a.m., Sioux Falls Christian at 1:30 p.m., Elk Point-Jefferson at 2:20 p.m., Parker at 3:10 p.m. and Vermillion at 4 p.m.
A panel of judges will select three plays to advance to the state competition.
