Vermillion artist is featured in Bede gallery The Bede Art Gallery on the Mount Marty College campus in Yankton will feature Ariadne Albright of Vermillion during the month of February.
Albright will be present at a reception and gallery talk on Feb. 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the gallery. Everyone is welcome to attend this free event and visit the gallery between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday throughout February.
Albright's three part painting series is entitled "Erotica: The Seasoned Woman" and consists of original paintings. Albright finds it appropriate to exhibit her recent work during the traditional month of love, February.
Albright is an accomplished muralist and has most recently been a guest artist and instructor at various schools in the Black Hills area of South Dakota. Albright received the Dean's Award at the Wilber Stilwell Award Competition in 2002, and she was awarded a Visual Artist Grant by the South Dakota Arts Council in 2001.
Albright's work has been exhibited at galleries in South Dakota and Washington. She is currently pursuing a master of fine arts at the University of South Dakota and received her bachelor of fine arts in Seattle, WA, in 1988.
