4-H Citizenship Washington Focus delegates chosen Jennifer Lindblom and Nick Peterson, both of Wakonda, have been selected to participate in the 2003 4-H Citizenship Washington Focus trip to Washington, DC June 27-July 6.
Lindblom and Peterson are two of approximately 80 South Dakota 4-H'ers who will have the opportunity to visit the nation's Capitol and the National 4-H Center. South Dakota delegates will also have the opportunity to debate national issues with 4-H members and leaders from 12 other states. Selections were based on the member's accumulative 4-H record and personal application.
Lindblom, daughter of Murray and Gene Lindblom, is a nine-year member of the Hareraisers 4-H Club. She has participated in beef, sheep, swine, poultry, rabbit, crop, visual arts, hobbies & collections, first aid, safety, home living, foods & nutrition, breads and photography project areas.
Peterson is the son of Chuck and Nadeen Peterson and is an eight-year member of the Young Producters 4-H Club. Nick has been active in the following project areas: beef, sheep, swine, embryology, poultry, dog, rabbit, crops, aerospace, wood science, welding science, fish & fishing wildlife, citizenship, visual arts, hobbies & collections, health safety, home living, clothing & textiles, food preservation, breads and photography.
The Citizenship Washington Focus trip is co-sponsored by the Clay County 4-H Leaders Association, Clay County 4-H Junior Leaders, Clay County Youth Trust Fund and the South Dakota 4-H Foundation.
