Career center to assist Gateway dislocated workers Governor Mike Rounds has asked the Department of Labor to provide rapid response services to those workers facing dislocation as the result of the Gateway layoff.
The North Sioux City One-Stop Career Center and Southeast Job Link sponsored a series of meetings earlier this week for workers in the Greater Siouxland area facing layoff from Gateway. These meetings offered information on the availability of services including unemployment insurance, employment opportunities, labor market information, employment counseling, and retraining options.
The One-Stop Career Center and Southeast Job Link are working with local community leaders during this time of transition for the workers and the community. The South Dakota Department of Labor, One-Stop Career Center and Southeast Job Link, are committed to offering all available services.
