A pleasing little book for the lovers of the Frank Lloyd Wright tradition will enjoy thumbing through this new addition to the library. Prairie Houses: Frank Lloyd Wright at a Glance, by Abby Moore is just the book to spend a few quiet moments reviewing many of his famous buildings, with photographs of interiors, exteriors, and detail works. Wright was very much a part of the modernist movement in architecture in the United States and around the world.
Pearls of Country Wisdom, by Deborah Tukua combines old-fashioned common sense and modern-day ingenuity. This collection offers hundreds of ways for anyone to enjoy a simpler, more natural lifestyle with hints on keeping a garden and home. When the author left a suburban home in Florida for life on a rural Tennessee farm, she turned to her neighbors for those little insights of wisdom they might be willing to share.
Mothers and Other Heroes, by Laura Pulfer is a collection of over 50 short stories about people's lives. People who generally go unnoticed, but are heroes with humility and good common sense.
